Papers required before your departure
First, your passport has to be valid minimum 6 months before the end of your stay. A return plane ticket will be indispensable to go through customs. Finally, if you stay more than 3 months on the territory, you must ask for a permission to the immigration service.
No vaccine is required. However, it is advisable to speak with your GP before your departure. If you go out of Singapore, it is recommended to get vaccinated against Hepatitis A and Typhoid fever. For an extended stay outside of the city, Japanese encephalitis is advised too.
The best season to come
From May / June until September, the temperatures in Singapore are high. It is out of the monsoon period so much less humid and less rainy than the rest of the year. Consequently, it really is the best period to go.

You will not able to receive a credit card. You will be entitled to a debit card, which will allow you to withdraw on a cash machine but it doesn’t let you pay directly a shop.
We advise you to find an apartment close to a subway stop. It is the most efficient public transport and it is clean, safe and relatively well served in the downtown of Singapore.
